# Git repo not usable outside SCM-Manager

- bug description (occurred issue): 1) In the filesystem, the file info/refs is missing. According to [Git - http-protocol Documentation](https://git-scm.com/docs/http-protocol/2.17.0) , this file is mandatory to the “dumb” protocol. We use the dumb protocol after a rsync of the repo to another server  
2) git gc job configured via the SCM-Manager GUI removes the files under refs/heads

- expected result / system behavior: in the filesystem, the stored repository is a valid git repository

- observed result / system behavior: SCM-Manager is working fine. Just the replicas of the git repos are not usable outside of SCM-Manager.

- SCM-Manager version and installed package: 3.11.5
