Mercurial Mirroring

Hello,

I’m trying to setup a mirror of a mercurial repo. In the SCM options I see only SVN and GIT filters for a mirror type. Is there a way to setup an HG mirror? If not, is it possible to add that somehow, officially or by users?

Hi @maximster,

thanks for bringing this up!

At the moment, the Mirror Plugin supports Git and SVN, but not Mercurial. Mercurial mirroring is currently not planned on our roadmap.

From a technical perspective, mirroring Mercurial repositories should generally be possible, as Mercurial provides the necessary mechanisms for synchronizing repositories.

The SCM-Manager and the Mirror Plugin are open source, so contributions are very welcome. If you’re interested in contributing Mercurial support, we’d also be happy to help and support you along the way.

We’ll also keep your request in mind when evaluating future improvements. If you could share a little more about your use case, that would help us better understand the relevance of Mercurial mirroring for the community.

Thanks for the feedback!

Hi Pascal,

Thank you for your reply. In our case, we run a bunch of GIT and HG repos in our work area, sometimes also SVN, but not as often. We always like to have back up servers of our code, and we achieve that with SCM mirroring. GIT repo mirroring works really well, but we are missing the HG. So if that could be added in the future, we would really appreciated it.
If we do get a free second and are able to contribute, we of coarse will.
