Error at first start of scm-server on windows: UnsupportedClassVersionError

Hello everybody!
I’m Jochen and I would like to migrate our repository to SCM-Server.
Actually we are using TFS with GIT. The GIT Repo should be moved to SCM.
I tried to install SCM-Server on WIndows Server 2012 and Windows 10 Pro.
On both systems the latest Java version is running.
Both systems can’t start the scm-server service.
On both systems the log file of the scm-server tell:
“Error: A JNI error has occurred, please check your installation and try again
Exception in thread “main” java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: sonia/scm/server/ScmServerDaemon has been compiled by a more recent version of the Java Runtime (class file version 55.0), this version of the Java Runtime only recognizes class file versions up to 52.0”
Class path of java is set.

Could anybody please give me a hint what I’m doing wrong?

kind regards,
Jochen

Hi @jochen.ferchland

welcome to our community forum.

Thank you for your post. We will have a look at it. I hope it is not urgent and could wait until next year, as many colleagues are already on vacation and we can discuss the issue internally in the new year at the earliest.

Best,
Christoph
